99 Tahoe 2 Door Getting Rear Disc Conversion

Well Im getting the LS MFG rear disc brake conversion for my 1999 2 door/2WD Tahoe. I opted for the drilled and slotted disc brakes, Calipers with the built in parking brakes and SS brake hoses. It should be here on Monday or Tuesday. I also bought the larger front calipers with pads, which are the 2500 front calipers and the master cylinder from a NBS. This kit also seems pretty well priced for all I'm getting. Im also hoping this will firm up the brakes as well. Ill keep all posted on the progress with pictures. Here is the link to what I bought.

Is it different for 4wd? I know we have 6 lugs

Yes LS has a conversion kit for the 4WD 6 lug, it uses the same calipers, just the caliper mounting plate are different where it mounts to the rear axel and the rotor is 1 in thick. Also sorry for the late reply. Super busy with work. Everything is pretty straight forward on the install. The only real problem that I had was the brake caliper. I got the kit that has the emergency brakes built in, they are the 79 to 84 Cadillac/Eldorado rear calipers. My problem was getting them adjusted properly for the emergency brakes, it was a ***** to do. Now that i did it its not hard at all. I also made new brake line as well and took the axels out instead of cutting the backing plates, this takes longer. I also changed out the rear seals and changed the rear gear fluid as well. Here is some pictures of the Caliper mounted to the mounting bracket and the rotor. Also some pictures of the of the bracket that holds the stainless steel brake hose that goes to the caliper and the main brake line. Just make sure that anything thats powered coated is cleaned out from the holes and threads, otherwise it won't fit. Run at tap through everything before installing your parts!!!

Now as for the rear emergency brake cables i had to get ones from a 4 door 2 WD Tahoe. The only reason had to do this was because I have a DJM rear flip kit witch moves the rear end back like 2in. So this means that the stock emergency brake were just about 2in short, especially the driver side. So I ordered them from Rock Auto. AC Delco and were like 15 bucks each. Super cheap. I knew going into this I was going to have to make mods due to the changes that I have already done. So here are a few pictures of what have done below.

I put the larger Front Calipers on as well. These are from a 2500 series truck from the same gen as ours. I have a comparison picture of the two calipers. As you can see there is a slight difference in size and the pads are about the same size but maybe just a slight bit bigger. They are a bolt on as well with no mods. Also with the changes I have made to the calipers I now have to use a master cycling from a NBS truck. They have a larger bore for larger caliper on both the front and rear now. I will be installing that today as well. Here are a few shots below.
