99 tahoe cabin noise - sounds like vacuum

oldsalt, did you have the same noise and doing that to the fuel lines helped eliminate the noise?

Yes. Based on what work you said you just did, experience tells me that is your likely issue.
Sounds funny but if the fuel lines are touching that body seam, the sound from the engine will resonate through the firewall and sound like a vacuum leak.
It's easy to see from both the top and under the car.
With your foot firmly on the brake and the car in drive slowly step in the accelerator and see if the noise disappears.

If the fuel lines are touching I would fix it as soonas possible. That body seam is very sharp and can wear a hole in that fuel line.

Of course, if the lines are not touching you may have other issues. But have a look at that first.
