unknown at this time.
Pick up the phone and call them. They are the ones working on them. Have not seen or torn into one that has the new design yet just the old one. I would think they would have covered all the faults in the case. I know of a few people I referred to them and they were totally happy with the company. They know there stuff.

The OE case half is fine, provided you use the upgraded rear pump half (Merchant Automotive has the nicest one I found). The main issue is that the OE design Al rear pump half has a narrow contact area (knife edge) that will eat through the Mg as it is softer than the Al.

I believe Doorman also makes an Al rear case half that can be used if you desire.

What exactly grenaded on your current T-case?

I can post pics of my rebuild if there's interest.

Thanks for the clarification Sunlit.

My mileage is almost identical to Dryfly's...

http://www.transfercases.com/replacement.case.shell.htm $165 no core charge. And if you like they will sell you a whole rebuilt t-case assy for $795 which includes the new rear case. There will be a core charge till the older unit is back in there hands.

Dang, Sunlit. timing is everything. I had just talked to one of the tranny shops in town (there are only two) to see how much it would cost to have them reman the 90K miles unit that I just bought for $725. They quoted $400. I called another tranny shop and they told me that if I used the correct special fluid, used new seals, and serviced this thing regularly, I'd probably be fine. I've decided to take the second shops advice. I hope I''ve done the right thing. To think that had I asked here sooner, I could have bought a newly rebuilt unit for $70 more than I paid for the salvaged unit. Oh well, ya pays ya money and ya takes ya choice.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

$725 for a salvage unit. You got ripped off. severely. you can get junkyard one for less then $200 here in cali.

+1. They can be had for around a $100 here. I'm thinking of buying one and doing a rebuild on it once I figure out if mine has the wear hole or not. The sucky part is having to crawl under a truck that may be precariously perched on rims or tires.
