The pump doesn’t come on at all. We had it come on once when it was hot wired. The fuel pump should kick on for 3-5 seconds when ignition is switched to run.(Prime) During crank position the fuel pump is on full time. Listen for the fuel pump to turn on when someone switches the ignition to run for you. You can pull the gas cap and hear it really good that way, while NOT smoking.
If theres pressure behind the regulator then the pump works, consider the regulator has failed. We could hear it come on and it was getting fuel to the regulator on the rails. There wasn’t any gas to the rails at all before that.
Holy smokes Batman. At your torubleshooting rate, that vehicle will be worth a fortune in antique value as the GM C/K chassis will be in Generation 35.The pump doesn’t come on at all. We had it come on once when it was hot wired.
So what I’m thinking is when the switch is turned on, it’s not sending the signal to the fuel pump to turn on.
I don’t know. This is making me real curious about finding it out. My son needs his vehicle soon so I’ll probably have it taken to the shop before too long.
is it possible that there is a problem under or at the fuse block? Might have to lift the upper half of the fuse assembley from the mating half under the hood and look for corrosion or some burn indications that would not show on top with the fuses, just a thought.
Lol. I work long hours and I really don’t have a lot of time to mess with it. But if we can’t figure it out this coming weekend, it’s getting hauled to the shop.Holy smokes Batman. You need to back to post#8 and follow those initial troubleshooting steps at the fuel pump relay. I have the feeling you work your way back from there and you will also discover the same reason why your starter aint a spinning too.
