Anyone here done some hydrographics on the interior trim pieces? I want to do my steering wheel trim in the burlwood like the rest of my tahoe ltz, but im not sure what base color to use to get it to match.

Not very fond of spending $160 bucks on these little pieces.

I have and a few others have...

It's hard to match the Tahoe trim. My hydro guy couldn't do it

$160 for those? WOW. I'd keep searching Ebay and hopefully some will pop up cheaper. Did the wood grain wheel trim come with any Tahoe package? I know the Yukon wood grain is different.

I havent seen any factory steering wheels with wood grain but i havent looked to hard. It's kind of annoying with all the burlwood that's in the ltz and then the few silver pieces kind of stand out. I will for sure keep looking.

From experience the hydro dip is cool. But if your piece isn't flat, the graphics film won't bond to it and lay flat and smooth over the piece. I've done some small pieces and it's worked ok. But the round top grip of a steering wheel I was trying to dip did not come out so well. I have dark wood trim in my 2006, so doing base color was a little easier to match to film for wood pattern. The company I went with for my dip kit had a color called blue graphite metallic. It's a cool color. But wouldn't work for your wood color. It's time consuming and tedious work.

I think I've seen some vinyl wraps that looked really close to the stock design and color.

Since you're also getting new steering wheel pieces, it's not a bad deal... $50 each side plus their work...

No

All my dipped pieces came out fine...

I just meant diy it's really hard to get those rounded off pieces to come out smooth. I'm sure the professional dip guys can do those pieces with no problem and get them smooth.
