Brand new here! Already impressed with the information on this page! I was hoping I could get your thoughts on this "catch"
My wife and I just got back from Montana for Thanksgiving from Oklahoma after a week. 4 kids including 2 of them being adult size in our 2004 GX470. When we bought it we thought it would be a good enough size for long trips... Wrong, everyone in the back was cramped, the passenger was cramped, even I was cramped while driving. What BS!
So, tossed the idea around of getting an expedition or a Yukon Denali. Denali it is... Did a lot of back and forth in the last couple days, and this one looks like it might be where we want to be. Here's the issues I've found,
-Needs new tires
-2 cracks in the windshield
-TPMS isn't reading the rear driver's side tire
-Found some seepage on the transmission coolant lines coming out of the bottom of the bottom of the radiator
He showed me a report of what was done and it looks like they have done some work on the air ride, can't remember what exactly, seals and shocks I believe?
Long story short, they will fix everything I mentioned except for the seepage, they are saying they aren't very concerned with it. I am going to talk with the mechanic about it first. I am an F-16 maintainer by trade, so I'm not an idiot.
They are asking 28,550...
+ ~$1500 for fixes
and wanted to drop the price to 27,600... Not low enough.
Long story short, 20,500 plus my trade in on my Lexus which I was only expecting around $5k for. Seems like I'm getting a good deal. Am I right? Anything special I should be looking into? Thanks in advance!
