Did you put on the severe duty fan clutch? Or a lighter duty version? I put the severe duty on my 04 when I changed it (similar issue with ac getting warm) and that thing really roars. It sounds like a semi taking off lol. But it does a great job at keeping the ac colder. I decided to put an auxiliary cooling fan as well and it helps even more. It wasn't a factory option for our trucks, it was made for the hd but there's a harness for it where it's almost plug and play.
