How many times have I said here, "Basics first". Put a set of gauges on the system and see what you got in there. @LordWayback and @rockola1971 were there almost a month ago.
Gauges are complicated i said the DIY kit because it’s only 1 number to play with, my lines are leaking so i don’t have AC rn :pain: now that these trucks are getting older they pretty much all have AC issues so we’re gonna see a influx of threads

Look at my for sale thread about one that has no a/c leaks and blows ice cold.

It depends on how much the AC got used and location also luck of the draw on compressors (primary failure point) my leak is most likely because I didn’t replace the lines when I did my ac because the aftermarket lines didn’t fit., my dads 97’ suburban with barn doors never had AC issues because he rarely drove that thing except winter where he didn’t have to touch the dial. My dad junked the suburban because he didn’t want to change the battery and failed to pay registration which added up he said he regrets junking it for $1,000 when it could’ve been (my) first car. It was also a 2wd and only worth 3k in perfect running order with no back fees back when he got rid of it with over $1,800 of registration late fees and tires , more from sitting it made more sense to him to junk it. The reason he got so much money for it was because it was perfectly running and driving until parked and ran with a jump. If he kept it he could probably sucker someone into paying 5k for it in this market because it was mechanically sound.
