this should hard reset your module. Tried it today for a blinking light and no cold air at 56 F. after plugging it back in I got cold air at the cold setting and hot in the hot setting. before I could only get hot.
The flashing light has to do with a low battery state of charge. Your recent fix of your alternator may fix it but I'd have the battery load tested anyway. Otherwise drive it and see if it happens again. If your battery is good, the new alt will charge it back up and the problem will disappear. Good luck.
I just developed this problem. And my heat is blowing cool air. Heard there's a way to reset the climate control by taking out the fuse and disconnecting the battery.
