I have been having a problem with my 2004 Tahoe with regards to the Air Conditioner. Everything can be working fine and then without notice one side of the truck will blow hot air while the other side continues to blow cold air or sometimes the whole truck will start blowing hot. No real ryme or reason. Can anyone help?

I had this same problem and fixed it right before my tahoe got stolen last week. The driver side blend door actuator is going bad. You need to replace it.

The part is at the bottom center of your dash where that black molding is.

I got the part off Amazon

ACDelco 15-72971 Actuator Assembly

Thanks for the info. One more question, how many actuators are there and how do you know which one to change?

Im not sure how many there are but the one you need to replace is on the VERY BOTTOM MIDDLE of the dash. There is a black plastic housing covering it that needs to be removed and it is held on by two bolts.

There are 3. Down low, passenger side @transmission hump is drivers side (pull the black panel to get to it). Behind radio and passenger side air bag is for passenger side (Most of dash, center console, not the easiest). Behind airbag up high is defrost (pull airbag and some of the dash screws loose). Only drivers side is easy to get to :).
