my ac tensioner broke does anyone know if this is common or is it bad news for the compressor and my wallet thanks for any help

my tensioner was broke as well, but i think my tensioner broke bc my compressor was screwed and kept snapping the belts causing the tensioner to slap against the stops messing it up, i just replaced alot of my ac components over the weekend
I replaced mine this year, not a big deal. Just get a new one, new belt.
You have to remove the serp belt and get the truck on jack stands. The ac tensioner and belt are much easier to do under the truck.
Please DO NOT do this with just a jack under your truck! We already had one member have his truck fall on him bc he skimped the jack stands. Thankfully he only broke his arm
