"Better" is a matter of opinion and personal preference. The VVT is awesome. You can get all kinds of power down low and the same top end power from a smaller cam as a bigger cam but without all the draw backs and having to get a high stall torque converter. Many tuners are scared of VVT because they don't know how to tune it and steer people away from it. As long as you have a good tuner you will be much happier keeping the VVT. Unless you're trying to build a drag strip queen in which case this isn't the best vehicle to start with.

Sorry...I chose the wrong words..I should have said more aggressive cam. I don’t know if I’ll get around doing this though as I’m getting an itch to finally sell it.

Apparently my engine has AFM. It’s a 2007 Yukon Denali with the L96 6.2 L. I remember my 2005 5.7L Ram had it and when I removed the muffler I heard it go in and out of V4 mode (drove me crazy). I have even a louder exhaust on the Yukon, but don’t notice any AFM at all. Do these engines have AFM or not?

You need to be careful here. The replys that you received that say your L92 engine does not have AFM are not strictly true. If your 2007 Denali was built prior to April 1, 2006 (and a lot of them were), you engine has all the AFM hardware inside (even though AFM operation is not commanded in the ecm software).

Here are a few references to the L92s having AFM prior to April 1, 2006 build dates, including an August 2020 GM TSB.
