The ad244 comes in 130a only and the dr44g is 145 a and I want the higher amp for my system.
I could find a used dr44 locally at the salvage yards then I would change
the ad244 to. A new dr alt is $175.00

There's the 140 amp CS-144 that has the same mounting pattern like the CS-130 you have. They came on the 90's LT1 powered Cadillacs.

All of these have the same mounting pattern, the later models move some of the parts outside the case and they perform a lot better when warm/hot.

All of them can be rebuilt to put out more amps ...

I can vouch for the CS-144, I replaced the stocker before I knew the 244's would fit. I haven't done any testing on it but this is with the A/C, headlights on high, engine @ idle-all the wiring upgraded to 0 gauge.

Found this too FWIW

I called up Alternatorpart.com and spoke with Randy. I asked him what alternator would provide the best amperage at idle and he said it's a wash between the CS144 and the AD244 in stock form. The two alternators use the same regulator, rectifier (see note) and stator. The difference between the two is the AD244 has a different rotor that is the same electrically, but has a different shape to it for the new case design. From the factory they have different recitifiers, which is a change in manufacturing technique, but the components (diodes) themselves are the same. The rebuilt units they sell use the same upgraded rectifier.
