Quick question on the iSimple ISGM655 - it looks like just what I am looking for, but does it replace the OEM XM radio? That is, with this installed would I be unable to use the normal XM capability?

Thanks!

No, it just plugs into the back of the unit. no cutting wires or nothing. I was going to do the XM harness hack, but when i saw this, for only 105 shipped, i went for it because:

1. it give me bluetooth
2. i can either stream music through bluetooth OR wired connection (no mini jack needed); charges phones and gets music off it.
3. You can control ipad/ipod through steering wheel or head unit.
4. It give you a usb port that you can use to charge, or connect to stereo.

You really can't beat that.

oh, this unit does require XM radio in place to function. non XM vehicles, you may need a different unit. It uses an xm channel for handsfree phone through strereo (i forgot to add that in my last post) or for music playback. It also has an additional input for some other devices.

Hello -

I know this thread is 3 years old - but I wanted to see if I could resurrect anyone from it for some current feedback.

I have a 2005 Yukon XL with Navigation, XM, and a back up camera. I'm interested in the same thing - getting Bluetooth, as well as USB and a 3.5 mini jack.

Would you say that the iSimple is a good solution still?

How has it worked for you?

I'd ideally like to have a 3.5 mini/USB adaptor combo - i know this unit only comes with a USB; but I saw this:
USB Mini 3.5 AUX

can I use this, to replace the straight USB that is included with the iSimple?

Thank you!
