Sounds good. Give them a full business day to email you...I remember when I ordered my spoiler, it was replaced with a newer part number, but they didn't tell me that until the day after I ordered...meaning I had to place a whole new order.

I'll keep searching, maybe someone has posted where this thing is located.

Arrrrrr!!

Just as I suspected. Got the email today saying that I can't order it but rather have to work with the dealer which won't do it unless it needs replaced or repaired.

I might be able to get it down at my parts department. Everyone at the dealership knows my dad, so they're all really nice to me, plus he gets a 30% discount on parts. :D

I'll ask on Friday and if they can get it then you can order one through me and I'll send it to you, if you want.

Even if you get it now you won't have much luck since apparently OnStar is not activating the units since it won't match the vehicle VIN. The dealer can program it to work in the vehicle and the bluetooth will work but you won't have OnStar functions since OnStar won't activate.

I had a good friend of mine that's in the parts dept. try and this is what he got:

Only way they can order it is theft, fire or damage of some kind. And it's something they have to contact corporate about and provide insurance paperwork and proof...yadda yadda yadda...so yeah...junkyard is your best bet.

This being the case, I'm thinking about going with BlueStar which is plug and play, gives you complete bluetooth functionality however you'll lose OnStar.

Eh. I'm picking OnStar over Bluetooth. I might go with an aftermarket like Modded suggested, where it works WITH Onstar and see if it's a good $150 value.

I grabbed this from another forum
Looks like someone in the Gm-Trucks forum has figured it out. I haven't tried this, but it looks promising....

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/inde...ic=78031&st=30

I added blue tooth from an 09 to my 07. can get you the factory gm parts to add it to your gmt900 trucks. my cost at the dealer ship with the vcim, bluetooth antenna, and new buttons for the steering wheel with phone pictures on them is about $300.00 and it will have to be programmed. then it will work just like factory 09. all you need to have is factory onstar and steering wheel controls.
here are the parts you need to add factory bluetooth to your 07 or 08, sierra silverado, yukon, yukon xl, tahoe, suburban, acadia, and enclave.

vcim # 20783877
antenna # 15938939
steering wheel switch # 25851951

As the original post suggests, I priced the parts from http://www.gmpartscheap.com/

vcim # 20783877 - $263.64
antenna # 15938939 - $29.72
steering wheel switch # 25851951 - $27.86

No idea on shipping costs.

You may also want to check gmpartsdirect.com .

I want to upgrade my 2007 yukon xl bosse nav onstar with Bluetooth and hope it is this easy.

In 99% of cases when you do that, you lose OnStar. Dealers have a hard time getting that functionality back when you add those new modules to a pre-2009 truck.

from what I can tell you are buying an Onstar module with blue tooth built into the onstar module

I am wondering are all the onstar modules the same?

It is, but the OnStar service won't work on the new module since your VIN was assigned to an older one.

So can I get any onstar module with blue tooth and it. Will work? Also, can the dealer program the vin or does it need to be ordered like that with the vin programmed when it's new?

What about stearing control, do you need them or will the 2007 xl steering nav system be able to control it

I am seeing used onstar modules on eBay for $100 but don't reflect those part numbers. Stated in my last post. Are all the modules the same foot print and interchangeable?
I called the dealer and they wanted $400 for the part I noted above

it won't be bad not to have onstar. Bluetooth I need and prefeer this over parot 9200i

http://www.costartech.com/pb/products/bluestar.html

I found this product
it replaces the onstar unit
it looses voice controls on the nav. Which I have

can the onstar unit from eBay be programmed with your vin when they are used for an 07 Yukon xl?
