What I’ve found was that the factory third row option was not available till 2001. There was an exception for 2000. If the 2000 Tahoe/Yukon had the lift glass and tail gate option instead of barn doors the factory seats could be installed. If you remove the cargo hooks from the rear and lift up the carpet you should see the floor board was contoured for the factory brackets.
I’m about to purchase a 99 that has the lift glass/tail gate option. First thing that I’m going to do is lift up the carpet to see what the floor board looks like.

I just called them though and asked about the tailgate only vehicles and he said it was due to just two customers returning the items because they couldn't get it to work with their barn doors. He said since then other people with the barn doors have mounted the seat with no problem at all.
