I have a cam retard and I turned the distributor as far as I could by hand and it is still +10.6° off. How do I go about adjusting it now so I am at 0°.

for your system you must be at 2000rpm when taken the measurement. if you still can not zero it out at that rpm the dizzy is likely off one tooth in either direction.

uh 10 degrees honestly. maybe that is another 10 -20 minutes of clock movement on an hour hand. if you hit a stop with the cap hitting something. remove it and realign the setup of engine and dizzy.

Maybe sunlit can verify this but it definitely sounds like you missed a tooth when reinstalling the distributor.

If you line up those 2 marks on your engine it will be at top dead center cylinder 1. Pull the distributor back out and realign the proper stamped numbers on your distributor and reinstall it. It needs to be set down and meshed without moving the alignment of the distributor. It may take several tries to lower it into place without the rotor button moving. Once it's In place you should be within enough tolerance to bump it one direction and have it set. I have a spare distributor in the garage I'll take a picture of it to show you what I mean. I'll also try to remember to snap a picture of my distributor alignment so you can see the idea where it should end up.

Also this setup isn't like the old distributor and carb style. The way it's setup you will just fight the ecm if you didn't get it meshed correctly with the cam gear. Even if you could turn the dizzy 360° you would be spinning it for hrs before you found the spot.

That should be with the distributor lined up for tdc proper installation if I recall.
