This is more for those that are going to get a tune later or don't want to spend the money on a range device.
ya I get it, some of the stuff gm does is annoying....and should not apply to everyone
they could very easily add software to define the cause of a cel on the radio display upon a button push but that would be too easy......and would hurt there cash cow
or a option to defeat a cel for a specific cause and only have it light up again if a new cause cropped up. but god forbid......

I agree. I run an autosync on my 18 sierra to turn off AFM and other things. It has unlimited powertrain warranty so I can't play with much on it without voiding the warranty.

I keep forgetting that the suv 14 is a previous model it does work on the k2's. But the gmt900 has the same plug. I shut it off in my 13 buy tuning so I can't confirm it works that way on the gmt900. It does give a check engine light but it doesn't affect anything other then not letting it go into v4 mode. It tells the ecm you have enough vacuum to allow it to switch.
Ofc it sets cel.. Man, if this didn’t set a CEL it would be perfectly amazing. Do you have a picture of the aforementioned harness plug ?

(I don’t plan on doing it, i don’t want CEL plus i have range unit.. but I’m genuinely curious)

It's the only sensor on the hose going into the brake booster. You could possibly get a brake booster hose fitting for an older vehicle and swap out the sensor one and just leave it plugged in to the harness. It will obviously not have a vacuum on it to allow it to go into v4 mode. And shouldn't throw a CEL.

I have never heard of this method to disable AFM.. is this only for GMT900’s ? More details please
First I made a typo, the trans is a 6L80E. I picked this tip up on the web, can’t say it would work on other drivetrains?
