On my 07 Tahoe 5.3L, when coming to a stop or idling/cruising and only around the 900RPM I will feel this shudder or stall or shaking. My steering wheel shakes, my dash shakes, basically my whole front end. After doing some searches and reading it seem that this is a known issues but I have also found that the NNBS has the active fuel management system or the displacement on demand system.

My main question is do all NNBS Tahoe have this system, or can someone tell me how to find out by vin or sticker codes or w/e?

Other question is, if I have a OBDII computer/scanner, and I do have this system in my Tahoe, can I disable this function from the computer or will I need to order the Range Technology AFM disabler plug in for the OBDII? Also, If there is another solution to this problem I have explained up above then I have not found it yet in the forum, any help would be appreciated, this problem is very annoying as it happens allll the time.

I'm going to do some "tests" I have found on the forum and see if that makes this shuddering go away. It has to do with putting your truck in tow mode and essentially turning off the AFM/DOD system and leaving the truck in full V8 mode. I know that this is not what the tow button is for but if this fixes the issue then I will for sure be looking into a programmer or this Range plug-in.

Thanks,
-Alex

On my 6.2 when the dod went out that's what mine did. Shaking the whole front end. The only code I got was a p0300 which is a generic miss fire code. And it was affecting the number 1 cylinder causing it to have no compression. When I took the valve cover off under cranking only the rockers were working just fine but when started they stopped.

Changed out the dod (valley cover) it worked just fine.

Hope that helps.

Thanks ill have to look into that for sure. Can i reuse the valve cover gaskets or should I have set before I pull off and check inside? Either way I may get the gaskets anyways, wont hurt to change them while I'm there.

I had the same issue. I purchased the range device and it went away. You could also get a tune and turn off the AFM. Either way, it occurs when going from 8 to 4 cylinder mode.

That sounds good, anyone know if the programmers like Superchips will knock out this as well. Big fan of that programmer and for about $150ish more unless I can find a used one I would rather get a flaspack form Superchip

If it says it on Diablos website then it should. Diablo and Superchip are the only two I would ever trust for gas along with the companies that do the tunes to your vehicle personally. The companies like black bear are for bigger tunes when u have tons of mods. Programmers are plug and play and the new programmers are for the most part internet updated for more options from what I have worked with. They are great for common mods like rear end gear changes, shift variable changes, CAI, full exhausts, and over sized tires swaps to get your speedometer to the right setting.

I will take blackbear over the off the shelf programers because I know that tune was made for my truck and not some generic wanna be tune.
