This is the first vehicle I have owned with an infotainment setup. The only time I really notice the lag is when I try to change menus right after I start the vehicle and it can lock up for about 5 seconds. Again, being an IT Guy my bias for faster computerized systems may be affecting my opinion on whether it's good or bad.

I don't notice much lag either but do not browse my iPhone from the unit. I just connect via bluetooth and control the song selection through the phone.

You guys happy with the new 2 speed transfer case in the Denali? Do you wish it had full time AWD? I've always liked full time AWD, rear doesn't slip out when it's raining hard and it just hooks up and goes on any road conditions.

The day GM changes over to AWD is the last time I will buy GM again.
AWD is not needed on a vehicle this heavy, and there is no need to run the front end full time. If you are losing traction during rain, the problem might be your driving. Ive never lost traction in 2x, and rarely use 4x in the winter.

Agree it is an 11/10 truck - very pleased but here are my whiney complaints....

My gripes:
1. GM's my link or what ever is laggy.

2. Cross bars are extra? give me a freaking break after tax it's a 70k+ truck. thrown in the bars for crying out loud!!

3. No organizer in massive center console... wife is using cardboard boxes. Throw in the stupid organizers for crying out loud!!

4. The front end scrapes driveway backing out (not so much when driving in) worse than the honda odyssey it replaced.

5. 22in rims I dinged one on the second day - Entirely my fault for driving it like my silverado and further complicated by not staying with he 18's - lesson learned.

6. The carpet in the rear/cargo area seems like it is going to get torn up fast - we looked at the mercedes and that carpet is much nicer and the merc was 2k less in total price.

7. Throttle lag is there - we think it is the Active fuel mgmt system. (at least that is how I calmed my wife down about it - I bought the car for her steering her clear of the more affordable Expedition and tried to get her into the diesel Merc but size matters to her apparently).

8. No 4g LTE?? I'll buy it cheaper somewhere else but seems like a fairly easy add on.. especially if you can turn it off mid trip in response to kids (like this post) are equally whiney/disrespectful.

We bought this beast so we could bring everyone and tow the boat. I have yet to tow the boat with it.......that happens for july 4th trip. Really looking forward to it!

You'd regret that Benz when you start taking it in for service.

Get rid of the lag with a nice Blackbear tune! The wife will like spinning the tires. Lol...

I started to read up on that from the Blackbear thread. What's the scoop/how do I get them to adjust my car? (and what is the impact on fuel burn)

BTW I hear you loud and clear RE: maintenance costs on the MERC.. that and I really have no interest in needed to add blue stuff every month (or however long) to the exhaust.

(and let's face it.. this truck is huge and somehow through the miracle of modern engineering parks easier than my Nissan Leaf (my commuter car with Carpool sticker).

Amazing truck.

Id email Blackbear. It's pretty easy. You'll actually save gas depending on the tune you go with. They can even tune it to tow more economically. [emoji106]

They are a vendor on here. They've tuned every gas GM vehicle I've owned.

11/10 overall. Love the appearance in & out and the entire driving experience. VERY comfortable.

2 things that are a nuisance to me:

#1 - The black plastic part on the top of the running boards is made from a terrible material = it is getting scratched all to pieces from shoes getting in and out. (non-power running boards) I only have 800 miles and take better care of my vehicles than 99/100 people. I'm the kind that cleans it everyday and hates driving in the rain. Zero abuse involved.

I really hope GM sees this is an issue and redesigns the material that is used on the top of the running boards (and offers it to early 2015 owners at no charge.) I saw a Tahoe that wasn't even off the dealers lot that the trim was all scratched and scuffed up just from tire kickers and test drivers.

#2 - The cloth fender well liners act like a huge sponge and if you park it in your garage after driving it in the rain, prepare to have a squeegee handy. They can hold probably close to 1 gallon of water each and leave a HUGE mess after sitting/draining all night.

Other than that, the only thing I can really say that bothers me is that the HUD setting needs to be able to be programmed to the driver 1 and 2 function just like the seat, mirror, etc.

:hmmm2:

2015 Tahoe LTZ here with 1,250 miles - cleaned her up today and couldn't believe the running boards were noticeably scratched up just like you described - what are they going to look like at 20K miles? I can't believe this one got by all the testing done on these vehicles. GM should "step-up" on this one.
