I have just bought the Spec-d led tail lights for my 2002 Tahoe, they look great but I have a gap on the sides where it meets the car. I know aftermarket stuff is not always the best and every one on this forum has the Sonar lights but can anyone with after market tail lights see light coming through the side of the light, I know my stock lights did not have this gap. The pictures I attached on shows the gap where you can see the little mounting post and the other I put a flashlight underneath the car to show that light comes through the gap. I am a perfectionist and this bothers me can someone let me know if this is with all aftermarket lights or just my Spec-d lights. Thanks

Sorry for the crappy photos took them with my phone in the garage but the first one shows the gap with the light behind it, that line going down the side is not a reflection it is the light coming through and the second is with flash and that you can see the little mounting pin that holds it to the side of the car. Its not a big gap probably 1/8 inch but enough to bother me.

Yeah I'd be contacting who you bought them from. No way I'd let that go. It's not like you don't like them, they don't fit. It's worth some haggling for some new ones.

Just took a look, mine have the same gap. IMO it isn't noticeable, seems to blend in with the shadow at the edge of the light. That's inexpensive aftermarket for ya!

I installed the same lights on mine yesterday and didn't have or notice a gap on mine. Did you make sure you pressed them into the holes far enough?

Yes they are pressed in all the way. The lights don't have a gap until I tighten the screws and that pulls them forward a tad and makes the gap, if i don't tighten them as much then the light is loose. Bluetahoe2001: where did you order your lights from?

also make sure the lights are fit in right vertically...up and down. make sure its pushed in all the way and have a constant pressure, or a buddy to push on them while you screw them down. i personally never had prblems with mine, but they are a diff tail light.
