Honestly, is it really worth the $$ to purchase one of these? What exactly are the benefits? do they improve drivability, are they annoying as far as noise in the cabin and cleaning the element?

If you are looking for performance gains then no its not worth it by itself. Like nathan said you need other mods to compliment the air intake. If your plan is do more performance mods like TB/Headers/Exhaust/Tune then yes its worth getting the air intake.

The need other mods to get the most benefit. If you just throw one on it will just be for sound and a couple HP.

I say of you really dont have a lot of money to dump into a good system, just get an intake and muffler and it will help. The stock muffler is very restrictive.
