Hey Guys - I did use the search, but still a little confused. I have an 05 Yukon Denali with a stock head unit with the Bose system and XM now. I have hooked up 2 amps and 2 15’s, but I would really like the change the head unit to get EQ capabilities.

I know about the adapters needed for Bose/Chimes, steering wheel controls, and the XM antenna adapter. – but my question is, with a sat-ready aftermarket head unit, do I still need to get a XM tuner? Or does the truck have one outside of the stock unit?

Thanks!!

after some mmore resarch looks ike the tuner is not compatable with any aftermarket units.

Maybe just adding an Eq would be easier.

Yea, the XM tuner is separated from the stock HU but it only works with the stock. So you will have to use whatever XM tuner the aftermarket HU comes with.
