So after I installed my K&N air intake on my car it now has a check engine light on. I checked the codes and all it related to was fuel air mixture, so I didn't really worry about it at first. But now it seems that there may actually be a problem cause my 03 Escalade has a really rough idle and its died on me twice. Now when it died the temperature outside was really cold (about 34 degrees), but I didn't think that would be a strong enough reason to make it die on me. I need help, any suggestions as to what I should do?

Check for a leak first, second, it is very common for the MAF to read inaccurately. I also also check and make sure your MAF and throttle body are clean.

Were you careful with the MAF? Can't touch the wires and have to be careful when cleaning them, only use MAF specific cleaners! Check for air leaks with some carb cleaner, if the idle changes while spraying a spot, then you have a leak there! Check the connection at the MAF as well!

Bump to all above but just incase make sure you plugged the MAF back in. I say that cause I forgot to one time and troubleshot for 2 hours before I realized it :)

Its very common to over oil the filter and the oil gets sucked into the maf.. clean the maf and see if that helps.
