airaid tube is 200-996. Might want to double check on that but I am almost positive it is that.

Correct part number! :Handshake: The one I found was $120 just for the tube, though

Also check out this air filter kit. I just installed it on my tahoe. It is a Roush intake but is made by airaid with the roush name on it. It doesn't come with the tube.

This is definitely worth thinking about here. That is extremely cheap in price. With it being made by Airaid but with the Roush name on it I wonder how they're able to sell it so cheap

its called a jr intake dont know the part #

I just checked AutoAnything for this and they do have it for $163 which includes the tube and the filter. Not a bad deal either :waytogo:

Thanks for the tips guys! I think I have something to go on. The guy with the CL ad never got back with me anyway so apparently he thinks his used kit is worth more than $100 :D

Do you know how much the tube is to buy separately? Makes me think that even my $100 offer may have been too much...

The tube ranges from 99-126. The offer you made on the Heat Shield/Air Filter part is a good offer. I just got lucky on eBay... like I said, this part of the kit is on Summit for 200+... that is WITHOUT the M.I.T (tube)

I ordered that JR kit.. it's just the tube and an aftermarket AIRAID air filter that fit's in your stock box... no cone shaped filter/heat shield like EVERY OTHER CAI out there...

Yeah, it looks like a pretty good set up on that and I like that it retains the stock box and includes the tube. I will either get JR Intake kit or that Roush kit that was suggested. Not quite sure yet but both are pretty reasonable in price I think :)

oops I actually forgot to put that I canceled the order for the JR kit after finding out all it is, is the MIT (intake tube) and a airaid air filter that fits in the stock air box. I ordered/installed the tube separately (99) and then the Airaid cone filter/heat shield afterwards. I found that the majority of the sound/gains came from the tube itself because after I installed the 2nd phase (Air Filter/Heat Shield), I didn't really notice any more difference since the Airaid MIT was already on. Just my 2 cents.

JD, do you have pics of how this looks in your engine bay? I'm still going back and forth on either ordering this Roush unit you pointed me too (cuz it's so stinkin cheap!!) or the airaid jr kit. If I see how it looks in your bay maybe it'll help me pull the trigger on one or the other :)

The roush kit does not come with the tube? The tube is the biggest part of the equation.

:banghead: You're right....I missed that detail of the ad!!! Alrighty, this makes my decision easy then! Airaid Jr kit it is :Handshake:

I'm glad I have you around to pick up the details that somehow I lose along the way :D The ad is misleading cuz the pic shows it WITH the tube...

Haha i'm trying to keep you on your toes with even the most minor details! :Handshake:

Yea the Airaid JR would be sufficient if you want to keep your stock air box. The ad pic is very deceiving you are right.. i just read it in the small fine print that their is no tube which kinda sucks... If you ever decide to upgrade to the Airaid Heat Shield/Air filter, it is do-able because the size of the intake tube is the same diameter as the stock air box and vice versa (with the MAF sensor in the middle of the two fitting perfectly). Airaid did it right :Handshake:

Thanks for the insight from your experience, Felix :Handshake: I hope to get Jr Kit ordered in the next day or two. I wasn't intending on doing it that quick but seeing that CL ad got my mind churning and now I might as well just get it taken care of and out of the way :)
