Companies lie/stretch the truth to sell product.
If fuel was introduced into the airstream AHEAD of the spacer such as with a carburetor or throttle body injection setup, then the helix MAY help it mix better with the air before it goes into the combustion chamber. So, it's not an all-out lie by them to say very generally that "the vortex of air increases power". This claim just applies to very specific aspiration setups that are obsolete on the street nowadays and certainly inapplicable to our setups.
Think about it- suppose the air actually does take on a clean and non-turbulent spinning action. What does it do once it gets past that spacer and into the plenum? Does it break up into 8 smaller vortexes of air and maintain it's spiraling as it finds it's way through the intake runners and past the intake valves? Absolutely not. If the spiraling effect actually was conducive to gains, then whomever designed the intakes would have given the individual runners a helix design. It wouldn't be difficult to do with a molded composite intake manifold.
So, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you...
