Heyo all,

I'm looking for more info on my '98 2 door Tahoe 4wd. Getting a continuous airbag light along with the following codes:

B1024- Driver's side sensor shorted
B1018- Passenger side sensor shorted
B1071- Module

I am trying to find the sensors. As simple as it sounds, they are not in the wheel wells where I thought they'd be. On the frame rails. I recently replaced all the steering linkage and pitman/idler arms, steering gearbox and input shaft from the firewall. The only sensor i've been able to find is this one:

It's under the radiator. Is this the only sensor for this year model?

Thanks,

Chuck

anything with a yellow connector is airbag stuff. the one on the front is the arming/impact discriminator sensor. it sends a signal to the module that an impact is taken place. it is up to the sensors in the module on your year to determine angular velocity and whether or not to trigger the bags. the first two codes are actually, for you, the monitored inflation circuits. for what ever reason the wiring has been shorted to ground on them. those issues must be verified as fixed and the the control module under the seat must be replaced. it is ruined when those other circuits are damaged.
