I've got 3" of crank and have noticed no odd handling characteristics. It's gotta be something with the spindles plus the crank causing some odd geometry up there.

That is why I wonder if having the toe out .14* is affecting it. I will be trying to bring the toe in to 0 today. Slighty outward toe will make a car dive into corners.

Shouldn't be that scary there must be something broken as with my 6" lift it is not scary. I mean it rides a bit ruff but that's be my tires are 10 ply and E rated 3,500# load each and 80psi. So they have no give. Other than that she drives like stock. You may want to have a mech drive your car as I have a feeling the steering box is leaking or has play. Or a front tie rod could be bent. There is an issue if it is that grabby when turning

But if the steering box was going bad, wouldn't it have a lot of play and slop in the wheel? The steering is tight...to tight I suppose since it is soo responsive to such minimal movement.

Steering box's are a weird creature. But they can go out any time. Did the alignment shop try to adjust it when they did your alignment? If you adjust them wrong usually two things will happen. 1) you turn the wheel and nothing happens or 2) you turn the wheel and it turns too much.

IDK it just really sounds like that is what is messed up.

I will have to verify with them, but to my knowledge they didn't do anything on the steering box.

What would be the best way to "check" the steering box? Id hate to replace and it not change a thing.
