Is there a write up on how to make all the dome lights come on when the doors are open. I did a search but didn't come across anything. TIA.:sorry:

I don't have one of those lights that you have, when you get a chance pop that light assembly out of the headliner and post up a pic of each side of the light, backside and lens side with lens off and I'll see if I can figure out how to do it! More than likely a diode or 2 strategically placed will solve your problem!

This is what they look like. When I saw the picture of the thread, I remember there being a small wire (or like you said, a diode) where I drew the green lines. If it's wrong and you have another method then disregard it. Here they are:

Only the horizontal bulb comes on when the doors open. I'd like the two vertical ones to come on as well though.

Thank you for the help!

Get a couple diodes from radio shack, solder them in from the hot side of the dome light to the hot sides of the map lights. They'll all come on with dome, and the maps will still work individually as before.

Sorry, I don't know anything about this...

What kind of diode should work? 10 or 3 amp, 1000V? I see a lot on Ebay.

And to find the "hot side," do I turn them on for a couple seconds, then turn them off and see which side is hot?

Gracias!

Hot side = positive side. Remove bulbs, turn on the dome and map lights and check with a test light. The bulbs are less than one amp, so any diode rated higher will work. You have to make sure you install the diodes in the proper direction. There will be an arrow on the diode body that points out flow direction.
