mines a 50 not a 40, don't recall the exact one, but it may have been the only DI/DO in the 50 series. have a glass pack that dumps under the passenger seat of the IROC and its almost tooo loud.

thinking of a 40 series or the super 44's for the Hoe whenever i get to that point. thinking the cats are probably clogged with it running so rich the last couple months excuse for a new exhaust? I think so :D

I personally have dual 40 series on my hoe and I love them. They are loud as hell and sound very aggressive. I have had them for two years now and I still love them. No drone issues

See, I'm not really looking for crazy loud, because my truck is basically stock. I just want to get a good-performing muffler that is going to say "hey, I have a gnarly 350 under the hood," but not one that says my truck's bark is worse than it's bite, you know? I mean really, go look at my pictures, and tell me what kind of muffler you can picture on there with the rest of the exhaust system TOTALLY stock, except for a brand new cat.

Dammit, this is all so irritating. I just need to make a decision, and now. So I think I'm going to pull the trigger, and get a Super 40 series. It's supposed to be quieter, and a little bit better performing than the other 40 series mufflers.

And hey, if it's a little too quiet: I'll just dump the exhaust. It'll be nice to not have that rotten ass pipe getting hung up on shit anyway.

BTW Bowtie, you got one cool exhaust setup. Little too much for my 'hoe, but that thing is spitting like a rabid dog! Gotta love it.

I know what you mean man and that will be a good setup. Sounds to me like you should get glasspacks. Hahaha

Bowtie what kind of Borla is it that you have on your truck? That sounds awesome!

Bowtie's stroker probably makes a little bit of a difference too :)

Maybe...

Exhaust is JBA shoties, magnaflow cats, borla cat back system (no idea model, been a long time since I bought this). And as BattelWagun stated, the 383 may help a little bit

The Wife gave me the OK to order the flowmaster cat back system. It comes with the 50 series muffler. I have the same concerns of it being too quiet. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

On a side note. I put the Jegs 3" cat back on my 91 5.7 Silverado. It was pretty darn quiet. You knew it was a V8, but not really hot rod sounding. The Jegs 3" turbo muffler is noted to be smaller than 3" on the inside.
