I have test fitted the newer style 220 amp alternator (from a 2016 2500HD) into my 2014 in hopes of getting just a
little more power.
Everything seems to fit fine physically. The only thing is that my 2 wire small weatherpack connector is just a tad too short
to reach the new alternator.
I do have the edelbrock supercharger which required me to "clock" my OE Alternator a bit since it kinda puts it on it's side....
SO, I either have to clock the new alternator - which i really don't want to do since it's so expensive.
OR find a repair pigtail to the 2 wire hookup and just "cut and paste" to give me a few more inches..

I can't seem to find the pigtail looking on oreilly or rockauto.. Maybe someone can chime in.

My orig alternator is the 160 amp version...
My other alternative is to get a little bit smaller pulley which I'm having difficulty finding - as I'd just want a 2.25 ish diameter - stock is 2.44"
Thanks

I looked too and could not find at RA at all. I would just "cut and paste" for now and hunt for the right pigtail. Contact @915_Tahoe with your last 8 digits and he may still be able to cross reference and find a part # for you.

I would just extend it with some similar gauge wire, some small segments of shrink tubing to cover the individual splices and a longer piece to cover the whole splice. Personally, I would solder the splices, but butt splice crimp connector might work just as well. Just remember to slide the shrink tubing on before completing the splices. :)

I’d just junkyard a pig tail and splice the wires. That way you only have 1 splice per wire instead of 2 if you add extending wires. But you know what. If the splice is solid and weatherproof. I don’t see why 2 splices would hurt anyway

Thanks for the suggestions.. I was hoping it would be easier to find a "repair" pigtale...
They usually come with about 6-8" of extra wire and I'd only have 1 place to crimp/solder
and only 1 point of potential failure.

I don't know these connectors but could it be de-pinned, wire length added to the harness, and the pins reinstalled on the extended wires and connector?
