Any other options besides the AD244 alts? Not sure I need one that big but it can't hurt. I plan on going to an e fan and dual batts and upgrading the big 3. Just curious as to what y'all have tried as far as alternators.

Why all of that?

Not sure what the part# you listed is for what type of alt,but there is NBS alt that is bolt on and puts out more the OBS Alt. NBS come with E-fans from the factory and that will suffice.

EXCELLENT CALL on the big 3 upgrade.

Dual batteries is overkill and IMO a waste of weight. I run a DieHard Platnium 34/78 Deep Cycle AGM battery in my truck with no problems...(Train Horns,HIDS in fogs and headlight, gauges, and a banging system) NO PROBLEMS what so ever...even left my HIDS on went to the movies came back and cranked right over!

I've got an Iraggi ** alt - 220a. It's considered a large case alt but it's a drop-in replacement, only requiring an additional arm for mounting (3-lug vs factory 2-lug).

I have a DC Power Engineering XP 250 amp. It's expensive but uses a Denso Hairpin sator and is made here in the USA. it's a high quality alt for sure.

I'll agree with others go for the 145 amp alternator that is off the 2003 Silverado's. I bought mine off of ebay for 40 shipped, it was used thought.
