I had singer alts and they would charge at 13.7v hot which pissed me off and singer cost $550 for a $350a regular alt.... My excessive amperage are hairpin 6phase 350a with powder coat black n green for $550 shipped... I am way happier with excessive amperage.... Also one of my singer alts failed and had to get it fixed within acouple months... Everyone I know running excessive alts never had any problems.

Well me new alt sucks. I charge at 14.1. I'm disappointed

It's not about voltage it's about amperage... The new alt could be 13.7v but under load still do 250amps or whatever the alt is. Some alts just have different regulators in them and charge alittle higher or lower. But the amperage is what matters.

Ok I've emailed excessive amperage to see whats goin on. But I've alway heard more volts=more watts

I just hope there's not a problem. I got the feeling I should have got a autozone alt

Lower voltage is not automatically a problem. In fact that's not even a bad charging voltage at all. Could be your new alternator working extra hard to charge your now semi-dead battery.

Your Local Auto Parts store is not going to just hand you a new one every time you burn it up. It's called Limited Lifetime replacement, key word being Limited. I know because I brought one back and they will replace it one time and that's it.
