Aluminum Underbody Shields?

Anyone replace the stock plastic underbody shield (faux skid plate) with the aluminum kit offered by GM (pn 23176881)?

How was it/how does it fit?

Any pics?

I'd love to see one on a truck to also see what it covers, how it installs, and if it is any better than the plastic unit. I'm inclined to think so, but...

Btw, it looks like top and bottom are reversed (flipped) in this pic... They should both be rotated 180 degrees. And I'm not entirely sure where the black plate goes?

My 2004 has a tiny little skid plate like that black one under the transfer case. That'd be my guess.
