amazon intake gasket kits

anyone bought the kit that has gaskets, knock sensors and harness?
also, i saw a youtube vid where the guy put rtv on the gasket as well, is that necessary?

I put some black RTV around the outside of the gaskets on my '99 5.3 when I did them. Was still running fine 40k later when I sold it.
