So I have everything that I need to put a system in the Tahoe just laying around so I figured why not. I will be buying the box from Rodney's Boxes on eBay (the one that goes between the back captains chairs). I am putting a JL 10w3v3 in it and I will be powering it with a JL 500/1 slash v2 amp. I will be using the AudioControl LCi2 line out converter as well per a Crutchfield techs recommendation.

I have installed all my own systems in the past so for the most part I know what I am doing but I was just hoping to find someone with some experience doing the NNBS Tahoes.

Questions:

- Do I connect power to the battery before or after the main fuse on the side of the battery?
- Would I have enough space to put the amp under the center console where they install the stealthboxes?
- What line out should I connect the LCi2 to and where can I find that?
- Do I disable the stock sub and if so where the heck did they hide the thing?
- Suggestions on other amp placement locations? (it will not fit under seats)

Any help is appreciated and if you have additional tips or suggestions please let me know.

Are you planning on running a separate fuse for your power aside from the main off the battery?
Whats the dimensions of your amp?

Line out converter gets attached to your speaker wires before it goes into the stock amp.
Stock sub(if you have one) is hidden under the center console or in the back near the tailgate.

I am running the inline fuse on the power cable that runs from the battery to the amp. As for the line out converter do I tap into the stock subs wiring to get my signal? I have used the line output converters before but just tapped into a 6x9.

Amp Dimensions:

500_1v2_Dimensions.png

Height (H) 2.36 in / 60 mm
Width (W) 13.40 in / 340 mm
Depth (D) 9.25 in / 235 mm

Power feeds from the battery to the amplifier should have an inline fuse as close as possible to the battery. So it would go ------- Battery, 2 ft of 2 or 4 gauge wire/( whatever gauge your using ), inline fuse, then amplifier.

The dimensions of that amplifier would work if you remove the stock sub (if you have one) and install in there.

If you wanted to use the existing stock wiring for the aftermarket sub, i would ohm it out first. You dont want to wire up a sub thats 1 ohm stable to a 4 ohm environment. That being said, make sure your sub is correct for that amplifier.

Thanks, I appreciate the info!

I am pulling the wiring from and existing system in my Acura TSX. 4 gauge wire (with the fuse exactly as you stated), runs to the JL 500/1 amp that powers my JL 10W7 (W7 I will no longer be using if anyone is interested).

I will double check the ohms but I am 95% sure they are both 4 ohms

I know for a fact that the amp will fit under one of the second row captains chairs if you remove the carpet cover from under the seat. I had one in the wifes nnbs but have since sold it and the 12w3s I had on it. It was a temporary install to prove that the equipment worked. As far as the lc2i you tap onto the wires coming out of the Bose amp to the oem sub. You just lift up on the cup holder and the wiring is under there. The sub wiring is in its separate plug. It's 4 wires because it's a dual voice coil sub.

Ok thanks for the info! I would prefer to his the amp so I am going to try the center console first. As far as the Bose wiring do you remember which wires you tapped into? I appreciate all the help!
