Another Airride question/issue

Hi, I have a 2012 GMC Yukon Denali. I have noticed that the autoride seems to come one more and more frequently. Lately my Wife has been driving the Yukon, and when I drove it for the first time this past weekend I noticed the air ride coming on every 1-2 minutes. I cannot tell if it is actually raising the back up from in the car. I took it into the dealer yesterday and had the oil changed. (they do it, and rotate my tires almost cheaper than I can buy the oil) I asked them to look at it. They said the shocks are not leaking. they said they were low when they pulled it in so they hooked another air source up to them and they held air with no leaks. They said it was the compressor. I asked why it runs and then kicks off if it is the compressor. Wouldn't it not shut off after 10-15 seconds? they said it was probably a leaking check valve on the compressor. They wanted almost $1000 to replace it. I declined. I do need to check my warranty I purchased though as I think it covers the air ride compressor. If not I will be doing it myself, if the consensus here is the compressor needs to be replaced. Thanks

I had the same thing with a 2008 LTZ Tahoe a few years ago. I had less than 65k on the clock, so I coughed up the coins. 11 months later it failed again. The warranty has time and mileage parameters so I choose not pay for it again. Traded at a different dealership too.

You could buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself, fun weekend project!

Just throw a Dorman compressor on it and be done. About $170 through Amazon, free shipping. Might be able to score it cheaper elsewhere. This is for the direct OEM replacement. There is another version that supposedly is an "upgraded" version to the OEM compressor that Dorman also sells that is a little more money.

I opted for just the $170 OEM replacement. Install takes about 20 mins. The only thing is that the short airline on the new compressor that goes to the driver side shock wouldn't plug in to the shock, the connector was just a tad too small. I just reused that line from my OEM compressor.

Check also Arnott compressors, I think they might have a better warranty? I bought mine from a reseller for cheaper than the Arnott website.

Dorman - $170, 12 month, 12k mile warranty

Arnott - $240.45 from Arnott (plus shipping), "limited lifetime" warranty, supposedly no time/mileage limitation to the original purchaser.

Dorman price is on Amazon, can likely be had cheaper elsewhere. Same with Arnott, as TJ mentioned can be had cheaper elsewhere than direct.

Thx M8, and thanks to everyone else that posted. I saw that compressor on Amazon and was thinking about getting it. Nice to know it will work and is a easy fix. I still have to check through my warranty. I bought an aftermarket warranty and it said it covered the air ride. If it does it is a $50 deductible to have them replace it. If not I will probably buy the one on amazon. I will post back once I get this figured out. Just so you know what happens. I know you are in suspense waiting to see what I will do LOL. Ok just an update. I took the Yukon in today to get the compressor replaced. it was covered under my warranty. took 2 hours but only cost $50.00 for my deductible. it fixed the problem. the mechanic that installed it said the valve was staying open on the old compressor so as soon as the compressor kicked off it lost pressure on the shocks. the old compressor was also wearing out due to running every 2 minutes or so. new compressor is faster quieter and kicks on when the car is started and not again (so far) until after it sets for a while
