So what's up with the boot up time? Is your tpms light on until that's complete each time you start the truck?

No, not at all. I never see a warning light.
As a test one time I unplugged the box while driving, it took the trucks computer a full ten minutes to throw a light on the dash.

I'm not sure if it's a mileage- or a time-based period before the truck illuminates the warning light and message, but it's a relatively long time and certainly longer than the device's boot-up time.

When I was trying to replicate Mark's "fortunate mishap" and disable the system on mine, I thought I had done it cuz I idled in my driveway for a few minutes, drove around the block then idled again and the light never came on. I went out for another lap and the light came on before I left my street. I've reset it and driven to Baton Rouge before the light came on again and I'd estimate at that point I had driven 20-25 miles. Pretty sure it's mileage-based.
