Hey whats up guys. Well I'm worried. I was out with the Mrs. and the baby, we stopped to get gas and a guy rushed over and told me I was pumping antifreeze from the truck. I rushed over to pepboys which is a block away. They just called me to inform that its not any hoses and it seems to be coming from the engine. They don't do engine work so told me I need to take it to a engine specialist. Well I normally deal with the dealer but a relative said it could possibly be the block and might need a new engine. Its a 2005 Denali XL 72,000 miles. I am just curious what this could be.

Thanks in advance

My 03 Tahoe was doing the same thing and found out it was my Water Pump Gasket that went out. It had just a small enough rip that it never overheated in 100 degree weather but would lose fluid. Might want to check that out well as you thermostat gasket.

There are quite a few things that can be checked.... does it hold water then the truck is cool and not running? How about running but still cool? Hot due toa bad thermostat and the overflow well overflowed? I wouldnt count out the motor just yet.

Get a real mechanic to check it out. The guys at Pep Boys are not mechanics. They are "parts changers". They just replace tires, batteries, shocks, struts, starters and alternators, and brakes. Some of them also know how to change oil and recharge AC systems.

They told me about a shop down the block. Gonna take it there this morning. Uncle said the same thing about the plug or the waterpump so we will see. Will post the results.

Thanks guys

Well shop down the block was cool. It was pretty simple, They told me it was the thermostat and a faulty antifreeze cap. Told me it was still somewhat hot and that I needed to take it to the dealer to have it checked by their computer. Paid them 88.00 bucks. Went to the dealer, they hooked it up and said that my radiator was not breathing due to old trash, particles and dust. They used forced air to clean radiator and said all was well. Charged me 150.00 for that ******** but hey trucks good now.

Thanks guys for advice
