Anybody done this with their steering wheel?

The brushed aluminum steering wheel covers started coming on (maybe late 09 too) 2010+ Tahoe LTZ's along with the chrome trim on the tip of the shifter, and chrome tow hooks.

As crazy as this sounds... If my truck came with the silver pieces on the steering wheel, I'd probably swap them to the black. Just looks more uniform to me.

Really? I'm guessing they changed it because of the peeling issue. I guess it's all a matter of opinion.

I'm guessing that by the clips that they have you will have to remove the airbag which sounds like a pain. Luckily my yukon came with aluminum brushed ones.

it looks cool with the steel type wheel. but of course it would be much better if your steering wheel is black. nice and very neat if you're steering wheel color is totally black.

My steering wheel spokes were peeling too, so I ordered the wood grain spokes from Autowoods.com last Friday and had them on my door step when I got home Monday afternoon. I had 'em installed in less than 30 minutes and they look awesome! The instructions say to disconnect the airbag but it wasn't necessary. The wires connecting it were long enough to set it on the steering column while I worked. The price was a little steep, $135 after core return, but IMO it was worth it.

Did anyone get the part numbers on the stainless look pieces? Mine are peeling, but I think I like the stainless over the woodgrain.

part numbers should be 15255100 and 15255102.

I have a set of stainless ones I'd sell...

PM me if you want them

I also did the spokes and the console trim. Finishes it off IMO. Autowoods now has the console trim on their site. If anyone contacts Victor at autowoods.com and asks he will give a "group discount" for being a member of this forum plus he has the package discount if you order both.
