Anyone else had their engine hours reset randomly?

Sometime years ago the hours just reset to zero on my 2010 Tahoe. Currently it shows 3120.8 hours and that is at 270860 miles... No I haven't averaged 86MPH for the life of it. Weird that it hasn't reset again just the 1 time.

Min reset after I had an alignment done years ago. Not sure how they did it but I tried to reset it after I refreshed the engine and trans. No luck

I have reprogrammed mine many times with HP tuners but it seems to have only reset the one time.

By accident i assume?
I don't see any setting, and i understand it's saved in the cluster it self?

Yes, I don't know when it reset and I don't even think HP tuners can reset this.

I did some reading where people say it randomly reset when their battery died and stuff.
Some known issue fixed by a software update if i remember correctly.

I can't get mine to do it.
Doesn't really matter, and I'm not going to mess with the odometer, but engine hours would be nice to have it reflected correctly.

Yep, mine reset when my daughter drained the battery by accident once. I'm almost back to where that number was, 1600 hours later!

The Sierra is still showing her original hours, just turned 5000. Mine theoretically is almost 4900.

The only time we can set the odometer and hours is with a new cluster during programming with a Tech-2. There was a $300 tool sold on Amazon that could do it, they pulled it because bums were rolling back odometers with it a couple years ago.

I remember when we would remove the cluster and bake the Speedo case remove window and use a tooth pick to roll the numbers back
