Just installed a Volant intake on my Tahoe. Basic intake with the cotton filter no snorkel scoop. I didn't realize it until I dropped the box in that there really is a lot of holes in it for air intake over the OEM box. I realize that is what its for - maximum airflow but has anyone experienced any water problems with their aftermarket intakes?

I googled it and saw the story of the guy with the Avalanche that drove through a monsoon for 5 hours and had water problems but nothing else really. My Tahoe sees normal driving conditions so I suspect no problems. Interestingly enough, when I pulled out my stock air box it had water on the bottom of it and it hasn't rained by me for a week!

It's hard to do, especially in a truck. I used to have CAIs in dumped cars and never got water in them. Hydrolocking a car is extremely difficulty unless you sit in a BIG 'puddle' and rev the motor. You'll be okay!
