I'm going to replace my old beat up fender flares, and wanted y'all's opinion on which set I should purchase. Going for the OEM look, no paint, and plan on leaving them black. The options:

a) Bushwacker OE Style Fender Flares from 4wheelparts.com for $328
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Fender-F...0&t_s=409&t_pt=3555&t_pl=814&t_pn=B/W40904-01

b) Fender flares from LRS for $199 plus shipping from Latemodel Restoration Supply

Anyone have any experience with either of these? Whats the difference besides the price?

Thanks in Advance

Only have experience with Bushwacker. They are a great product, not sure about the price tag though. I was able to find mine, extend-a-flare, for $240 shipped or something like that a few years back off of evilbay.

Since you have a 2 door, why not hit up a boneyard & see if you can find some off a truck or burban. They should fit without any issues.

The LRS ones are at a good price, didn't know they were out there. I'd probably spring for those if I couldn't find any at a junkyard.

I havent bought either set yet, but I am leaning towards the Bushwacker set. I know they are a good product. I am concerned that the LRS flares are going to be a shiny black finish, while the Bushwacker is more of a matte black, which is the look I'm going for. Still open to suggestions though.

From the research I've done, you are correct. The LRS flares are a good buy, but are smooth fiberglass which will be easily broken on the trails. If you don't take the rig off-road, and don't mind the smooth finish, then this is the best option.

The Bushwacker flares are a textured plastic, which will resist damage on the trails. They can still be busted, but are a lot tougher than fiberglass. I'm saving up for a set of these.

Check ebay, you can get the smooth ones for $145 or takeoffs for less. They also have a ton of the pocket bushwacker flares.

I just ordered a set of Bushwacker OEM style flares today. I'll get some before and after pictures when I get them installed.
