I can't recall how I ended up finding their stuff, but I pulled the trigger on the GM suv specific HID kit using Hylux ballasts. Has anyone else here used this kit? How did the install go? As I've posted, I try to stay away from anything having to do with electrical, but the stock low beams are just, well, trash. The directions I got from the site basically says to plug the things into the other things, and videos I've found of HID installs on full size GM suvs contradict each other. Is it really plug and play, and will I end up shocking myself, along with the assured damage I will do my body anytime I work on something?

i dont have any info on that brand, but i do caution swapping to an HID or LED...JUST MAKE SURE TO adjust the light afterward...IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT BEAM PATTERN.

here is my swap to LED20201201_183346.jpg 20201225_052719.jpg

Ended up putting this kit in after work. I was able to figure out the very basic diagram for instructions and connect everything. I was pretty close to the garage, so it's hard to tell the side to side exactly, but the cutoff is pretty much identical. I don't know if it's the housings, but they do seem to have slight hot spots, which may be a little left compared to the LED that came out, for lack of a better term. Much better than the stock halogens and the LEDs I had in there for a few months.

Each side is self contained, I didn't have to run anything connecting the passenger and drivers sides like I've seen from some kits. Drove it around the block and everything seemed to work fine. Guess we'll see if I start getting flashed when I encounter some oncoming traffic.Screenshot_20210422-213239_Gallery.jpg

As long as your headlights are properly aimed you won’t get flashed. I’m running HIDs in a custom building xenon projector housing in my 2006, and while they’re bright as shit they’re properly aimed, so unless someone is driving an insanely low vehicle they’re won’t blinding oncoming traffic. High beams that’s a different story... lol.

The Hylux kit is good, I put those on my Silverado over a year ago no issue's, I actually bought a extra kit in case something does go wrong down the road and then find out there no longer available or sold out or something. The ballast seem to be pretty good quality, when they are thick and heavy that's a pretty good indicator that higher quality components and heatsinks were used.

I noticed this morning when I unlocked the truck, when the headlights came on there was a whine from the driver's side, but it faded.
