Looking to replace the stock shocks on my 2003 GMC Yukon SLT with smooth ride suspension. Looking to replace with stock or close to stock. Anyone do this recently? Whats the best stock replacement? KYB? Monroe?

Napa is selling replacements for 38 a shock - supposedly not "Smooth Ride" though. DO I have to go back to GM just to get the right shocks?

I just replaced my shocks with monroe reflex shocks and the ride is smooth as hell, was gonna do the bilsteins but didn't want to spend the cash and I am way happy.

If you replace the stock Autoride shocks with Bilstiens, do you still have the auto-damping feature?

What about replacing the front shocks on an Autoride system? Do you have to get those from GM?

You just have to pull the RTD fuse under the hood on the autoride trucks, then disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Bilsteins for these trucks are:
Front - BILF4-BE5-E672-H0
Rear - BILF4-BE5-E380-H0

The fronts are for the hummer h3 but work extremely well on our trucks, only difference is the hummer shocks use an integrated bumpstop but are the exact same dimensions as the front application bilsteins for our vehicles.
