I have been thinking about adding a set of these to my '05 Tahoe. I tried a search but the "E3" is to small to search for, sorry it is has already been covered. I know you can't believe everything you see on TV, but Horsepower tv did a few tests on them and they did well. I have 45k on the engine (I have only had it for about a month) so I imagine the factory plugs are still installed. If not the E# what is the best plug choice for my 5.3L. At present it is stock except for SLP CAI.

Thanks,

i am also curious about this. Is there actually a gain in mpg like they advertise?

I run E3s and it might just be because I changed to new plugs but I went from 17.5 to 19 mpg on average. I do drive mainly highway and like I said it might just be because I changed plugs.

first off, awesome. I will probably get these. But how in the hell did you even get 17.5?! I get 13.5 on a good day mostly highway

Everyone says that! I think it might be my rear end gearing being the 3.23s. I never thought my mileage was anything special until I got on here and a couple guys I know got Yukons and Tahoes. Guess I just got lucky with my Yukon.

I just took a look at pricing on Advance Auto's website. The reviews are horrible. How many miles do you have on your plugs? The reviews seem to show that they start going bad from 1-3 k miles after installation. I might just stay with what I have. How long are the stock plugs good for?

I've got at least 20k on my E3s. Stock plugs are supposed to go to 75k I think. I'm not sure of that though. I'll admit I think the gains from E3s were better in the beginning. I thought about changing to OEM plugs just to see if it made a difference after the E3s had gotten up to this mileage after seeing those reviews myself but it would cost money and time. I don't have enough of either to waste.

You are most likely running a 6.0 liter and AWD, from the pic under his name, his truck doesn't look like a Denali, so there is a good chance he has a 4.8 or 5.3, and running in 2wd most of the time.
My 2006 Denali does get 16-17 on the highway if I am not speeding or traveling too many hills. Also, I just put in AC Delcos and so far my mileage seems like it might be 1-2 mpg better, but I am not done with the tank and mileage always varies anyway. My plugs were the originals with 98K on them, so I wouldn't be too surprised if anyone changed high mileage plugs for new and got a little increase in mpg.

Just my opinion.

I have 140,000+ miles on my stock plugs and will probably be replacing them tomorrow with some Denso iridiums.

With my '00 Blazer, I noticed an increase in throttle response with the iridium plugs over the platinum plugs it had, but who knows how much of that was just having new plugs versus old plugs. The platinums had 50K on them when I replaced them.

Correct. I have 5.3 and 2wd.
