I got a P0420 code so its probably time(180k miles) to replace the cats, but rather than put new ones in I would rather use an off road pipe and tune out the rear o2's. What options are there for these things in terms of aftermarket ypipes?

LPPparts makes off road Y's, and if you have a BB tune, Justin can tune out the 02 sensors, so you have no check engine light.

Thanks for the heads up Blue, what exactly is LPP? My guess is lingenfelter but I didnt find anything on their site for an off-road pipe to fit factory manifolds.

I run no cats. I have long tube headers and an off road y pipe.. both came from pacesetter. (black bear tuned the rear o2's to be off) The y pipe i bought won't work with factory manifolds. With cash in hand some "old school" exhuast shops will cut out cats and replace them with a chunk of pipe, that would be about all you need to do.

got them done finally but no smell while driving, now sitting at idle thats a different story! at the time, I couldnt find an offroad pipe that would work with factory manifolds(link posted was backordered) so I just had blank pipes welded in place but I did find afterwards, that Jegs sells an o/r pipe for factory manifolds. either way I am glad the clogged cats are gone and its got a bit of a louder sound for now.

I was going to remove my cats but I replaced the driver side rear o2 sensor in reference to the same code you had. The light went out 2 days later and hasn't come back since.
