I bought a couple of front hub/bearings on ebay last week. Advertised as moog, but not anywhere near it. Moog is very pro-moog in their marketing and packaging, and these came in a plain yellow box. Sometimes, I dont mind using chinesey crap, but I want to KNOW I'm using it...not getting lied to. When I contacted the seller and said, "these are not moog," they started arguing with me..... There are zero moog indicators on it. No blue ABS cord, no FM stamped studs, plain yellow box.....the evidence is pretty clear.

Anyhow, I used some detroit axle parts years ago when I rebuilt the front end of my envoy, and they seemed fine. I didn't really keep that thing very long so I dont know about the longevity, but the reviews on amazon are pretty good. Like 4.3 of 5 stars, and lots of folks advertising 50k+ miles with no issues. I dont expect 200k out of them, but I paid 142 dollars for 2 units w/ a coupon code. Even if I had replace em every other year, they have a 10 year warranty!

I have heard quite a few stories of critical failure of their parts. You get what you pay for.

I wouldnt put detroit axle on anything unless you were trying to prep it to sell. Used to have a jeep and there were plenty of people who got a year max out of the suspension parts. Reviews are good usually because the average joe buys them to replace the ragged stock crap, and really anything would be better than what came off.. if only people would update their 5 star review a year later

I mean it's a hard choice. I pulled the trigger on two of Em... Even if they get 2 years down the line I can budget for other more premium brands. But whats the difference in Chineseum parts. Master craft or Detroit axle, both are Chinese crap that will bust in a year or two.

Being made in China does not necessarily mean low quality. The difference is what level of quality is demanded of the company. MRC, SKF, Moog, Timken all have plants in China and put out quality products because the have a good quality system in place to make sure that happens. Others don’t and therefore the overall quality takes a back row seat to cost.

Exactly^^^^. It’s the factories that have no QC and no oversight that put out the crap parts. Some of those Detroit Axle bearings have actually come apart and if that happens when you’re on the freeway, the cost of quality parts will look like a bargain compared to the carnage. But it’s your life and those who ride with you. Good luck.

Your in luck I have the info. I ordered my first ever Detroit Axle Front hub (ebay) for my 00 RWD Yukon in May of this year mainly because I could not believe the Crazy Price 49.25 with free shipping. It included the ABS wire (blk) and plugged into the connector perfectly. I only bought one as I had just replaced the other side with a Napa. It spins just like the Napa and is very quiet on the road.DSCF3674.JPG This is what your box should of looked like if you got a real Detroit Axle Hub.

Ummm....there is no fake Detroit Axle hubs because they’re all garbage. Hate to break it to you. Hope it doesn’t fall apart in a year or two.
