I was thinking about beefing up my tie rods with the sleeves from Rough Country. For $35 I thought it'd be worthwhile. Has anyone tried these out? Someone with an '01 Tahoe gave them a good review but that could always be faked you never know.

I have them...still in the box. I'll install them some time this year. I don't think they would tighten up the steering, just make it harder to bend a tie rod if you hit something.

Kinda what jough but their main purpose is to help strengthen the tie rods when running larger tires as the tie rods are usually the weak point. For you I would say they're not needed but wouldn't hurt to have them.

Interesting. If you wheel it hard then yeah I could see that upgrade making sense.

Yeah, my tie-rods just have 15 years of use on them and I do wheel and I wouldn't want one stupid mistake or rookie approach line cause me to break a tie rod out on the trails. That would really be a shit-show. I just want a little more peace of mind and have one less thing to worry about

Nah I never ended up doing them. I'm waiting to do a whole front end overhaul with coil overs, longer UCA's, new CV's, and a slight front diff drop to keep my CV angle from being so miserable. Waiting to get my savings account back up from bein unemployed the last few months.

Im looking to find a happy medium between drive shaft angle and CV angle. The drive shaft is stil lstock angle and can go down a bit which wouldnt hurt it but would provide a hell of a lot of relief for the CV's. Need to find an optimal compromise and then a good way to drop it. Any suggestions? Probably need to have a custom bracket fabricated.
