I am finally driving the truck around. A couple tweaks I need to make: 1. Trim the bumpstop on the H3 Bilsteins 2. Install the e-brake cable bracket off a pickup truck.
I found that the coils from a McG 3/5 kit are the same as the coils in the 2/3 kits or maybe I just got screwed, either way, no bueno.
For everyone curious about my setup, I have 275/45/20 tires all around and I'm running McG 2" drop spindles, McG Keys, BellTech Camber Bushings and H3 Bilstein HDs up front (Max was right, these shocks are great!!). In the rear, I'm running the BellTech TB springs with the free travel mod, axle relocation kit, shock extenders, Tahoe/Yukon Bilstein HDs and Spohn adjustable panhard bar. I couldn't tell you how much lower I am from a stock truck, but before the added drop, I was at 32.5ish up front and 34" rear on a 2/3 Key/Coil drop. Now, I'm at 30.5" on both sides up front and 32" D and 32 1/8" P rear. It's a bit frustrating as I was shooting for 30.5" up front and 31" rear but I'll drive it for a bit and do a little more research to see what other options I have.
Notes for anyone doing this at home:
A.) Spohn adj bar removed brackets for e-brake cable as they are on the OE panhard bar. GM P/N 15148676 is req'd to secure cable, maybe $10 from the dealer if you don't fab your own bracket.
B.) BellTech camber bushings need to be pressed into the upper control arms, plan for this
C.) If you're planning to replace one wheel hub bearing, do both
D.) Free travel mod is much easier with everything off the truck, but if you must leave everything on, just remove shocks and coils and you're good to go.
On to the pictars!!
On the way home I saw a stock Yukon and just couldn't resist:
